Inclusion

We are an LGBTQ+ friendly space, and welcome people people of any age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, class, ability, language, or cultural background.

We support the FAR (Fighters Against Racism) initiative.

Privacy

If you have provided us with any personal data, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Personal data such as email addresses and names will only be used in communication with you, and will not be provided to any third parties.

Safety

As a weapons-based martial art, HEMA always carries some risk. We mitigate these risks by:

• focusing on courteous, supportive, collaborative behaviour in training. The safety of everyone in the session is the responsibility of everyone in the session!
• practicing to control our speed and power under all circumstances. The mark of a master swords-person is the ability to control what they do at all times!
• using blunted weapons, and weapons simulators, but treating them with the same caution we would with a "real" sword.
• matching safety equipment - fencing masks, padded clothing and gloves - to the risks of the activity.
• adapting drills and other activities to the individual fitness and capabilities of participants.

Any photographs or videos made when participating in our activities will only be shared or published with the express permission of the participant.
